Mark Lemmon, Ph.D., F.R.S.

Mark Lemmon, PhD is Co-Director of the Cancer Biology Institute, Alfred Gilman Professor and Chair of Pharmacology at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Lemmon completed his PhD here at Yale in 1993 and did a postdoc at NYU. He then spent 20 years on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, where he was the George W. Raiziss Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics as well as Chair of the department and an Investigator at the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute. Dr. Lemmon’s research focuses on the signaling pathways of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), which, when mutated cause cancers and other diseases. Email Mark at mark.lemmon@yale.edu

Pouyan Rahmani

Pouyan is the Institute Coordinator for the Cancer Biology Institute. In his free time he enjoys photography, traveling and hiking. Email Pouyan at pouyan.rahmani@yale.edu.

Anatoly Kiyatkin, Ph.D.

Anatoly Kiyatkin is a Research Scientist working in Dr. Lemmon’s lab on the projects that are focused on the analysis of the dynamics of receptor tyrosine kinase-mediated cell signaling networks with a goal to understand design principles of regulatory network structures that play critical roles in cell fate decisions. Email Anatoly at anatoly.kiyatkin@yale.edu.

Kimberly Sheffield

Kimberly is a Research Associate in the Ferguson and Lemmon Labs. Outside of the lab she enjoys comics, running, and Terry Pratchett novels.

Steve Stayrook, Ph.D.

Steve is director of the biophysics core facility at the Cancer Biology Institute. Email Steve at steve.stayrook@yale.edu.

Yuko Tsutsui, Ph.D.

Yuko is a research scientist who thinks nothing but science. Her primary interest is finding ways to manipulate signaling cascades by modulating protein dynamics via protein localization control and/or ligand binding. Email Yuko at yuko.tsutsui@yale.edu.

Archer Hamidzadeh, Ph.D.

Archer is a postdoctoral associate interested in studying the dynamics of ERK-MAPK signaling through the use of FRET microscopy. Outside of lab, he enjoys exploring new sights/restaurants in the area and watching sports (big fan of the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Vikings). Email Archer at archer.hamidzadeh@yale.edu

Long Han, Ph.D.

Long is a postdoctoral associate interested in studying the structure of the epidermal growth factor receptor and the dynamic process of ligand binding. Outside of the lab, he enjoys hiking and playing with his daughter. Email Long at long.han@yale.edu.

James Hutchison, Ph.D.

James is a postdoctoral fellow with a passion for understanding protein-lipid interactions. He is currently working to understand how lipids regulate the epidermal growth factor receptor. When not in lab, James loves to play board games and explore the local wilderness.

Krishna Mudumbi, Ph.D.

Krishna is a postdoctoral associate interested in studying the kinetics of receptor tyrosine kinase dimerization and signaling through the use of single-molecule microscopy. Outside of lab, he enjoys playing music and board games. Email Krishna at krishna.mudumbi@yale.edu.

Anselm Sommer, Ph.D.

Anselm is a postdoctoral fellow interested in protein-lipid interactions and is currently working on deciphering the enigmatic Wnt-Signaling properties. When he can’t be found in the lab, he is either watching soccer (Nur Holstein Kiel!), training in the gym, drinking beer or dancing in Brooklyn. Contact Anselm at anselm.sommer@yale.edu.

Bowei Deng

Bowei is a Pharmacology graduate student characterizing endocytosis and trafficking of EGFR induced by various ligands. He is also interested in investigating EGFR variants to unravel the role of endocytosis in cancer-driving EGFR, where its constitutive or altered signaling might partially result from disrupted receptor internalization. Outside the lab, he loves spending time with his cats and planning his next trip. Email Bowei at bowei.deng@yale.edu

Christopher Ng

Chris is a senior pharmacology graduate student. He wants to determine if PH domains can interact with protein ligands with patterns of phosphorylated residues to reveal novel signaling pathways and drug targets across physiological systems. Beyond science, Chris is a dedicated weekend warrior in skiing and multiple cycling disciplines, always on the hunt for the next challenge.

Kyle Misquitta

Kyle is a pharmacology graduate student interested in studying receptor tyrosine kinase inhibition, signaling, and mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapeutics in cancer. He enjoys being outside and loves biking, rowing, and baseball. Email Kyle at kyle.misquitta@yale.edu.

Zaritza+Pic.jpg

Zaritza Petrova

Zaritza is a graduate student in pharmacology interested in the molecular and biophysical underpinnings of EGF receptor activation and the involvement of the C-tail in the process. She spends her free time drinking cappuccino, running, skiing, and traveling. Her favorite lab equipment is the AKTA Pure. Email Zaritza at zaritza.petrova@yale.edu.

Lucy Kim

Lucy is an undergraduate student pursuing a double major in Global Affairs and Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. Her research focuses on understanding the kinetics and signaling of receptor tyrosine kinase dimerization, particularly in the human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER) family. Lucy hopes to continue her work as a physician-scientist in the future. Email Lucy at lucy.kim@yale.edu.

Genevieve Kim

Genevieve is an undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-medicine track at Yale University. Her focus in the Lemmon Lab is to explore the relationships between dynamics and drug resistance of mutated receptor tyrosine kinases. She loves reading, jewelry-making, and stargazing. She is the president of the VIDA Volunteer chapter at Yale and volunteers as a Care Coordinator at HAVEN Free Clinic. Email Genevieve at genevieve.kim@yale.edu.
